As in my previous post labeled "Liberal Double-Talk", I provided my readers with a list of common phrases currently used by our liberal/progressives in America. Some people may be stuck in their thinking when it comes to political phrases like "Double-Talk".
We as patriots need to understand this phrase "double-talk" does have a historical background. It comes from what is historically known as "Aesopian" language. Dictionary.com's definition quotes:
AESOPIAN:
"Conveying meaning by hint, euphemism, innuendo, or the like: In the candidate's Aesopian language, “soft on Communism” was to be interpreted as “Communist sympathizer.”
Since we all realize history does repeat itself, its important to realize the history of AESOPIAN language. Here is the direct quote from Wikipedia:
In this context Aesopian Language refers to the idea that certain usages of language work to 'suppress certain concepts or keep them out of the general discourse within society'.[2] An example of such a technique is the use of abbreviations to possibly prevent undesirable questions from arising, e.g., "AFL-CIO entombs the radical political differences which once separated the two organizations."[3]
Within the context of Australian politics a term with very similar meaning is called dog-whistle politics. The meaning being that there are certain sections of the electorate who will react strongly to the content that may be controversial if spoken of overtly, where to those not attuned to the issue the statements appear neutral. Therefore speaking to a sub-group without alarming the general population. For example illegal arrivals to describe refugee-claimants.
Can you see the connections?
I encourage you to research this further, so you can be a more intelligent patriotic American.
